Mather Track & Field Meet REPORT Lewis University Invite 03-22-08 (click for official results) | |
The sore Rangers come off a hard week of training at spring break but had some strong performances. Our best athletes taper down training for their state meet and will work through some meets (like today) not feeling their full strength. I was happy with the efforts and some terrific performances were still put on the track. Some Meet Highlights (all times are FAT) | |
Hurdles | Roger is Human. He looked good in prelims winning his heet in 8.04 but had a bad race in finals. B Shaw also won his prelim heet in 8.21 and Ran an FAT PR 8.10 in finals to place 7th in the meet. |
55 Dash | Prelims KG 7.62 (missed finals by .04) Kellion 7.37 Finals Kellion 7.35 Ties her FAT pr finishes 5th vs a nice field of girls. |
Jumps | Steve O declares a 21’ jump and then hits exactly that mark. Bruce jumps 18’3” In triple steve jumps w/ sore back at 42’6” |
1600m | Ivan was a little timid to lead and push the chase pack in the middle of the race and I believe it cost him a low 4:30 time. He ran a nice indoor race though 65-69-72-70 4:36.13 finishing a strong 6th place. |
800 m | Justen (a sub) gets put in the slow heet and crushes the field in 31-32-32-34 2:09. I’d loved to see him in a faster heet. Web runs a smart and strong race 26-30-30-33 2:00.4 FAT qualifying for iptt indoor state. CONGRATS!!! Monica looked strong in 34-36-38-38 2:29. she’s ready to run if front of these type of meets. She finished a strong 4th place. |
4x200 | Roger 23.6 OJ 25.0 B Shaw 23.0 Steve O 22.9 Missed IPTT and were bummed but when we heal em up and bring em rested they’ll ZOOM in outdoor. |
200m | CONGRATS to KG whose 26.67 FAT gets her into IPTT in the event. Kellion wins her heet in 26.9 FAT. |
4x400m | Web lead off with a terrific 52.5 handing off in 3rd. Jorge zooms around to 1st in 52.6. Nest ties up a bit in lap 2 in 58.2. B Shaw runs the smoothest 51.6 you’ve ever seen on the anchor. 3:34.9 |
