MHSXC Individual Rankings
Preseason (Last updated june-'10)

#1 Abe Haji (JR)    Capable of sub 15:00 in his junior campaign.  He'll lead a tough 1-2 punch with Mendez.  Watch for a sub 15:30 in peoria on Sept 11th and a special season to follow.  Abe is a leader and now has a great cast of runners around him.  He's a hard worker and terrific student.  We'll continue to work on his much improved closing speed this season.

#2 Juan Mendez (JR)   Juan looks to build on his 9:54 3200m coming off his soph track season.  He's taller and stronger now as a junior with a vicious closing kick.  He's made XC as much of a priority as his love for soccer and figured out the athletic balance between the two sports.  Look for mendez under 16 minutes very early in the season and under 15 minutes in november.

#3 Bana Negash (JR)   Injuries restricted Bana's progression in his sophomore season.  He comes into junior year healthy and stronger than ever.  He's eager to show he's a top level varsity runner.  He'll easily surpass his PR of 16:01 this season and we look for him to mix in with Mendez and Haji in workouts and races.

#4 Tarik Estrada (SR)  Tarik enters his 4th season of XC tougher and stronger than ever.   Tarik is the most determined kid on our team.  He brings intensity to our practices and a tough edge that every team needs.  His 16:40s from last year should progress 45 sec to a minute putting him as a tough top 5 runner.

#5 Abdel Elyoussoufi (SR)  Will ba sub 16 man in his senior year.  This moroccan has huge potential and has 100% bought in to the work we do.  He is also emerging as a senior leader.

#6 Victor Maldonado (SO)    Look for a huge jump Frosh to Soph from Victor.  He's ready for the Soph breakthrough season we've seen from the likes of Ivan coronel.  If that be the case look for this young runner to be our fastest improver and have some top 3 performances for our team.

#7 Antonio Trejo(PAPAS) (JR)    Thank you soccer.  They bring us another great crossover athlete.  I see Papas success to mirror the performances of Mendez from last year.  He's a terrific athlete and very tough.  Once he learns how to run relaxed early he'll dominate in the 3 mile distance.  Watch for huge kicks from papas in big meets.

Others to Watch:  #8 Jason Lee (JR), #9 Andrew Papageorgeiou (SR) , #10 Aidarous Ahmed (JR), #11 Sukrins Shrestha (Jr), #12 Eric Hernandez (So),  Edward Guel (So), Niko Maldonado (Sr), Johnathan Extract (Sr), Moises Flores (So)
